Strategic input for the Conduit Foundation

Working with PGCollective (specifically Bob Thust) to run a pilot funding programme for the Conduit Club, a members club in central London and Oslo with positive social change at its core.

Over the summer I’ve been working to form a team and deliver a pilot 12 month programme in partnership with the BRLCF. It is super exciting to start something new with a new team and with an aim to deliver real and tangible systemic change. Starting from day 1 though is also scary and slightly fly by the seat of our pants! I’m working with a fabulous team that means we have got to where we wanted/needed to by when we said (Bob, Caro, Eleonore and Jazal that’s most definitely YOU).

The programme itself is with a focus on young (0 – 25) migrants and refugees and supporting organisations working in this space from around the world. We are forming our processes and aiming to follow as inclusive, equitable and fair process as possible.

Main highlights:

  • experimenting with Airtable to deliver
  • forming connections between members of Conduit that weren’t there before, as well as bringing new people into the network
  • longer term plan around how the Conduit Foundation might grow and iterate is so exciting – the ambition is long term, not just 12 months
  • being able to use the great resources Dark Matter Labs have been creating, particularly the open grant agreement playbook
  • the way the team has formed, and the commitment everyone shows in turning up and getting stuck in, sometimes with things we might not have had a go at before!
